چکیده
Five dynamic, large-scale centrifuge tests on pile-supported wharves were used to investigate the time- and depth-dependent nature of kinematic inertial demands deep foundations during earthquake loading. The wharf structures in physical experiments subjected a suite recorded ground motions imposed superstructure piles. Partial full liquefaction loose sand resulted slope deformations varying magnitudes that It was found inertia soil displacements always phase critical cycle when bending moments at their maximum values. test results analyzed provide relative contributions peak loads cycles, data revealed depth dependency these factors. this study are companion paper recommendations for design foundation deformations.

Centrifuge modelling of long piles subjected to lateral loading with high load eccentricity in sand
In this research paper, five centrifuge lateral loading tests of long piles with a considerable load eccentricity were carried out in the sand to investigate the impacts of the load eccentricity and pile length changes on the lateral behavior of a flexible pile beside the determination of experimental p-y curves. Comparing experimental test results with the recommended API (American Petroleum ...
متن کاملNonlinear Dynamic Analysis of Pile Foundation Subjected to Strong Ground Motion Using Fiber Elements
In this paper, pile behavior embedded in layered soil deposits subjected to seismic loadings is analyzed using a nonlinear fiber element for simulation of soil – pile interactions. In the created model, both pile and surrounding soil are modeled using fiber elements in a practical Beam on Nonlinear Winkler Foundation (BNWF) concept. Herein, the features of DRAIN–3DX finite element software are ...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of Piles Subjected To Lateral Spreading and Comparison with Shaking Table Results
Pile foundations are relatively vulnerable to lateral loads. During liquefaction-induced lateral spreading, this vulnerability is particularly conspicuous due to a loss of strength and stiffness in the liquefied soil. A nonlinear effective stress analysis incorporating an elastoplastic constitutive model based on Finite Difference Method (FLAC2D program) was used to numerically simulate shake t...
